Work to create Access for All at Henley Railway Station commences August 2013

Network Rail have notified the Parish Council that work to create a new disabled-friendly footbridge and accompanying lifts at Henley in Arden railway station will commence in August 2013.  The work, which the Parish Council has been campaigning for many years to achieve, has been welcomed and will provide a much more accessible route to the station, the public footpaths and the Parish Council allotments.

Inevitably, whilst the work in in progress, there will be some disruption and at off-peak times, the bridge may have to be temporarily closed for health and safety of the public. When the existing bridge is closed for work, an alternative route through the coal yard off Bear Lane can be used. The work is scheduled for completion in March 2014.

Notices will also be posted at the station giving details of the changes.
