MEETING WITH SPORTS CLUB REPRESENTATIVES AT THE WARWICKSHIRE COLLEGE SITE

Last night, several members of the JPC were invited to join with a number of representatives from the sports clubs currently using the WCG site, south of Henley in Arden.

The meeting was based on the need for the JPC to be given the facts about the actual usage of the facilities as reports from participants in the sale of the site had created confusion both within the JPC and the town at large.

The meeting, which started with a conducted tour of the site both internally and externally, at every stage, revealed one hundred percent occupation by adults and children enjoying this comprehensive sports centre.

The JPC were then handed a number of heart felt testimonials from each of the groups on site and supportive evidence of the importance of such facilities, from Henley in Arden Medical Centre, who often refer patients to take part in certain exercise regimes at the site.

It was abundantly clear, that closure of the site, or the exclusive use of it by another organisation, will create untold harm to the community and that fact alone, has prompted the JPC to support the requests by the core group in their bid to seek provision for their needs during the upcoming planning process.

Further reports will appear on this site, please take the opportunity to keep abreast of events as they occur.
