NEW PARISH CLERK APPOINTED

At the JPC Extraordinary Meeting last night at the Memorial Hall, the Council appointed Ray Evans as Parish Clerk.

Ray has served as a Councillor for ten months having been elected as Chair in May 2019, he sought to resign from Council to devote his time and effort in the role of Clerk.

He succeeds Gill Peacock who has served the community well over the past four years, and is now Clerk for Dunchurch in Warwickshire.

The JPC also took steps to re-organise their infrastructure with the adoption of two new Sub-Committees, by balloting their membership in the choice of Chair for all four groups, the following Councillors were duly elected :-

PLANNING SUB-COMMITTEE – Chair – Cllr Marijana Bainbridge

[Votes – Cllr D Broadbent 3, Cllr M Bainbridge 6, Cllr Roger Hubbocks 3]

FINANCE SUB-COMMITTEE – Chair  – Cllr Elaine Field

[Votes – Cllr Elaine Field elected unanimously]

TOWN WELFARE SUB-COMMITTEE – Chair – Cllr Angela Okey

[Votes – Cllr Angela Okey elected unanimously]

EMERGENCIES & MAINTENANCE SUB-COMMITTEE – Chair – Cllr Jem Jones

[Votes -Cllr Jem Jones elected unanimously]
